McGuireRuel B. McGuire, 84 years and 21 days, of Hatfield, formerly of Heisy, passed on to his heavenly home, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after suffering from a lingering illness of black lung, Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, from his residence.Ruel B. was born on Higgins Road at Heisy, Aug 2, 1933, to Rell Lawrence and Mary Reed McGuire.He was a retired coal miner and truck driver. He was a member of the Pilgrim Home Regular Baptist Church at Varney.He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillie Gibson McGuire. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before she passed on. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Bruce and Paul David; and four sisters, Brooke, Nannie Lou, Emma Jean and Juanita. He had one living sister, Grace Eileen and one living brother, Rell Jr.He is also survived by three sons, Mark Allen (Tina), Albert (Tammy) and Arnold (Patricia); two daughters, Uslie Alberta (Tommy) and Annette; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews; one special granddaughter, Allie Nicole and her children, Braylen and Nevaeh; a host of special church family and friends, who are greatly appreciated; and his companion, “Bailey.”He wishes to express his gratitude of love to his family, who cared for him; one special sister, Patty Bevins; one special daughter-in-law, Tammy McGuire; and his daughter, Uslie Alberta, and her husband, Tommy Dotson, for all of their care and love.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Pilgrim Home Regular Baptist Church, Varney, with Brother Ebb Sesco officiating. Burial will follow in the McGuire Family Cemetery, Rockhouse Fork, Hatfield, with sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers.Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, at the church, with services at 7.
